Inner Mind

Images of flowers
Of frolicking bunnies
Of rainbows and clouds
Trickle through my mind

Soft breezes gently move
The blades of grass
In that flowered meadow
That dwells in my mind

Bask in the warming sun
Revel in the gentle silence
Banish the black cloud
Pretend I can prevent

The sun is covered
By the slow moving clouds
Happy colors fade
To a range of blacks and greys

The things my brain comes up with
In the dark recesses of the night
Would frighten many a child
And terrify even the strongest man

There is a house built here
On the hill surrounded
By deep black water
By bright dancing flames

The house is frequented often
To see it is far from inviting
The irresistible pull is unbreakable
And I find myself here again
